On the Road; December 19 - 24

Through the Storm
Through the Storm
Leaving Tucson (Arizona) and stopping at Las Cruces (New Mexico), and Fort Stockton (Texas) we are arrived in San Antonio on Saturday, December 21st.  A massive winter storm dumped snow and ice just north of us but we only encountered heavy rain and thunderstorms this close to the Mexican border.

Resting up in San Antonio for four days we rambled about the downtown core when not putting our feet up in the old Crockett Hotel.  The famous “Riverwalk” is a few blocks away and the “Alamo” is across the street.

The guests get fewer and fewer as Christmas approaches and the staff friendlier than ever.  Last night Martyn played a few Christmas carols on the grand piano in the lobby for the benefit of the front desk receptionists.  Christmas Day we drive to the airport, park the old Land Rover in a secure facility and fly to Mexico City.
